Neon Sign Repair for Wesley Chapel and Pasco Businesses

A dark letter or a buzzing, flickering tube makes a business look closed even when the doors are open. Quality Signs Florida repairs the neon on commercial signs across Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Lutz and New Tampa. We are a licensed Florida electrical contractor (License #ES12002067) with over 30 years building and servicing signs, and we bring our own bucket trucks and Elliott sign crane to reach the sign.

Our neon work is repair, re-bending and LED conversion of existing business signs.

What We Fix on Neon Business Signs

  • Failed transformers, the most common reason a neon section goes dark or flickers.
  • Broken or cracked tubes, re-bent to the original pattern and refilled.
  • Dim, pink or flickering sections where a tube has lost gas.
  • Electrode connections, housings and high-voltage wiring that have corroded or worked loose in the Florida heat and humidity.
  • Storm damage to neon letters, cabinets and pylons, with photos and an estimate for your insurance claim.

Before you book, check the breaker marked SIGN and the time clock. After a power outage, a time clock that lost its setting is a common reason a sign stays dark. Our sign repair page walks through both checks.

Neon Re-Bending: Keeping an Original Sign Original

Some signs are worth keeping exactly as they are: a long-running restaurant's script logo, a dealership's classic letters or a landmark sign customers know. When a tube breaks, we re-bend a new section to match the pattern of the old one, fit it with the right electrodes and connect it to a healthy transformer. The sign keeps its glass-neon look instead of being replaced.

Re-bending makes the most sense when the rest of the sign is in good shape. If several sections and transformers are failing at once, ask us to price a conversion too, so you can compare.

Neon-to-LED Conversion for Existing Signs

Many older business signs in Pasco County still run on glass neon behind channel letter faces or inside cabinets. Converting that lighting to LED is often the most practical fix when the neon keeps failing. We remove the tubes and transformers, install LED modules and power supplies inside the existing letters or cabinet, and keep the faces and structure you already have.

  • Lower power use than the neon and transformers it replaces.
  • No fragile glass to crack and no high-voltage transformers to fail.
  • Bright, even lighting that reads well from SR 54, SR 56 or a busy parking lot.
  • Keep your sign's shape and faces, which is often far less than the cost of a new sign.

We already do the same kind of work when we retrofit fluorescent cabinet signs to LED. If the letters themselves are worn out, we can quote new channel letters built in our Wesley Chapel shop instead.

How a Neon Service Call Works

  • Send photos. A nighttime photo showing what is lit and what is out, a close-up of any damage, and the sign's address.
  • Free phone consultation. Sometimes it is just a breaker or a time clock, and we will tell you before we roll a truck.
  • Repair, re-bend or convert. We recommend the option that makes sense for your sign and give you a written price.
  • Licensed, safe work. Neon runs at high voltage. Our licensed crew does the work to code with our own lift equipment.

We service signs in Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, New Tampa and Lutz and Odessa. Thinking about a digital sign instead? See our LED message centers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you repair neon bar, beer or home signs?

No. We don't work on bar signs, beer signs or neon pieces for the home. Our neon service is for business signs: storefront letters, cabinets, pylons and other signs mounted on or in front of a commercial building.

My neon sign is flickering or part of it is dark. What usually causes that?

The common causes are a failing transformer, a cracked or leaking tube, a bad electrode connection or damaged wiring. A tube that glows dimly or flickers has often lost gas. Send a nighttime photo showing what is lit and what is out, and check the breaker and time clock first.

Is it better to repair the neon or convert the sign to LED?

It depends on the sign. When a historic or signature sign is mostly sound, re-bending a broken section and replacing the transformer keeps the original look. When several tubes and transformers are failing, converting the lighting to LED is usually the better long-term choice. We'll look at your photos and recommend one.

Can you match a broken tube on our existing sign?

In most cases. A broken section can be re-bent to the original pattern and matched for color as closely as the glass and gas allow. Send close-up photos of the damaged area and the sign's address.

Do you service neon signs outside Wesley Chapel?

Yes. We service business signs in Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Lutz, New Tampa, Odessa and the rest of central Pasco County. Call (813) 689-8671, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
